Worum geht es in Matlock?

Matlock ist eine US-amerikanische Justizserie mit Andy Griffith in der Titelrolle des Strafverteidigers Ben Matlock. Die von The Fred Silverman Company, Dean Hargrove Productions, Viacom Productions und Paramount Television produzierte Serie wurde ursprünglich vom 23. September 1986 bis zum 8. Mai 1992 auf NBC und anschließend vom 5. November 1992 bis zum 7. Mai 1995 auf ABC ausgestrahlt. Das Format der Serie ähnelt dem von Perry Mason (CBS): Matlock identifiziert die Täter und konfrontiert sie dann in dramatischen Gerichtsszenen. Ein Unterschied besteht jedoch darin, dass Mason seine Mandanten in der Regel in einer Vorverhandlung entlastet, während Matlock im Prozess meist einen Freispruch durch die Geschworenen erreicht.

When Cameron Ivers is killed in a hit and run accident, Matlock decides to take a closer look at Robinson and Reeves, hoping that if he can tie them to Cameron Ivers' death he'll be able to tie them to Scott Aston's death and clear Cliff. After gathering together a number of people Scott Aston had been investigating who were supposed to be dead, Matlock heads to Florida where he finds Chuck Ratner, and Cliff and Jerri learn that the people are all connected because they all turned down the same kind of life insurance. Matlock continues his quest to lose weight by his reunion, but fires his personal trainer.
